Doxology
Welcome! Today I have for you "Doxology" (download here) the Alpha Notes version. The lyrics were written by Thomas Ken in 1674 are actually the last verse of a longer hymn, Awake, My Soul, and with the Sun. It has come to my attention that many churches in my city (maybe I'm wrong about this) have all but forgotten this very important ending piece of a service, mainly because many churches do not use it any more or find it too traditional/old for our present times. I feel that it's time our current musicians, both young and old, have a chance to learn this very short but essential piece of church music. Enjoy and keep making music! God Bless!

Blessed Assurance
Welcome! Today I have "Blessed Assurance" (download here) Alpha Notes version for you. I have noticed many musicians have trouble getting this compound time right. This timing has 3 dotted crotchet beats in a bar i.e. it sounds like 3 triplets in 1 bar or it's in swing time (that's for all you jazz lovers out there) ;-) If you still have problems with the timing, do let me know, but in the mean time keep playing and enjoy the journey! God Bless!

As The Deer
Welcome! You can download the Alpha Notes version here. It is written by Martin J. Nystrom in 1981 based on Psalm 42:1. Enjoy and keep making music! God Bless!
You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
You're my friend
And You are my brother
Even though You are a King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything
And You are my brother
Even though You are a King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything
I want You more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye

Amazing Grace
This blog is for the purpose of providing simple Alpha Notes
music for non-musicians and beginner pianists or keyboardists who do not read or have a difficult time
reading notes. I have come to realize that there are not many music scores and resources on and off the internet with
alpha notes for the average person out there who just wants to play an
instrument i.e. piano, keyboard or guitar etc. without going through the
hassle of having to take music lessons for years and struggling through all the
exams and exercises and scales and what have you to be able to play and enjoy music.
Here is a link to
another website that has more information on how to find the notes on a
piano/keyboard, chords and other useful music knowledge to get you started. I
will add in other useful links later.
So
I am presenting my first arrangement here, Amazing Grace, download here . This is a hymn loved greatly all around the world. The music scores I present on this blog is meant to be free and not sold even though I hold the copryright. I do not intend to
infringe on any copyright laws, so please let me know in the comments if I have done
so and I will gladly remove the offending piece of music. Thank you and I hope
you have great success in playing music! Below is a video of this hymn. Enjoy! God Bless You!
