Kumbaya
Welcome! Today I have "Kumbaya" (download here) the Alpha Notes version. This little popular black spiritual song, was first recorded in 1927 by Robert W. Gordon, sung by H. Wylie where it was sung in Gullah on the islands of South Carolina between Charleston and Beaufort. It means "Come by here, my Lord" in Gullah is "Kum by (h)yuh, my lawd" For more information look here. Enjoy and keep making music! God Bless!
