"Oh Where, Oh Where, Has My Little Dog Gone?" is a song partially featured in the 1935 short film "On Ice" with music composed by Leigh Harline. Originally written in 1864 by teacher, performer, and music publisher Septimus Winner, the nursery rhyme is based on the tune of the German folk song "In Lauterbach hab' ich mein' Strumpf verlorn".
The original song is written in German dialect Pennsylvania "Dutch"), and subsequent verses praise lager, but lament the fact that "mit no money", drinking it is not possible, and praise sausages and thence to speculate on the fate of the missing dog:

Lyrics:
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his ears cut short and his tail cut long,
Oh where, oh where can he be?
To see what he could see
And in his mouth was a globe so bright
I wonder what could it be
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his ears cut short and his tail cut long
Oh where, oh where can he be?
Playing and running around
But I can't see him there anymore
He just can't seem to be found
He may have seen him go by
Who knows where he might have decided to go
But we've got to give it a try
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his ears cut short and his tail cut long
Oh where, oh where can he be?
