Miss Lilian is a folk song from Tobago. Miss Lilian is a black lady who is nanny for a little white girl. In verse 1 it is not clear whether the lyricist has an eye for Miss Lilian or the little girl, but in verse 2 it becomes clear that the little girl is the centre of attention, as the epitome of exquisite beauty.

Lyrics:
See Miss Lilian so fresh 'n' gay
with a bunch of roses in her hair,
and a lilywhite maiden by her side;
and I wonder if she will be my bride.
Just take her by her lilywhite hand,
and carry her across the water,
and give her the kisses: one, two, three!
and I wonder if she will be my bride!
